Xibalba - Hasta La Muerte (2012)
Xibalba is the name of the ancient Mayan underworld that loosely translate to "place of fear." This is some heavy shit right here. In a nutshell, to me, a sludgy, doomy version of Pantera.

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain (1971)
One of my favorite styles of music is the amalgamation of psychedelic era sounds with the soul and strength of the black power movement. Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsies blew my young mind. Miles Davis' Bitches Brew and Live Evil was sold to me as "Black Panther's on Acid." Maggot Brain is up there in the catalog as well.
400 Blows - Black Rainbow (2003)
Just saw Big Business this week and the word from guitarist Scott Martin, who moonlighted in 400 Blows, the band is no more. So in honor of this news, here's their first album.
Lee Hazlewood - Requiem for an Almost Lady (1971)
This is just killer. Lee keeps it real like no other in the biz and makes the term "Fuck that bitch!" sound so eloquent and melodic.
